Some 70 years ago several fisher families moved from Madura to Java’s Eastern coast because of the perfusion of sea life.  During stormy weather, after the nets were mended, they began making handcrafted wind chimes including this large green cpaiz wind chime from the discarded shells.  Capiz shells, or Jingle Oysters grow like weeds in the shallow sea beds.  The beautiful handcrafted wind chime with its watery colors and sweet tinkling sound are a wonderful addition to any interior or garden.
